(i) It provides Indian citizenship to the migrants who entered India on or before
31st
December 2014.
(ii) The Act was passed for migrants of six different religions such as Hindus, Sikhs,
Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and
Pakistan.
(iii) Parliament used its exclusive power to legislate with respect to citizenship
under the
Seventh Schedule of Indian Constitution.
(iv) The provisions on citizenship will not apply to the tribal areas of Assam,
Meghalaya,
Mizoram and Tripura that are included in the sixth schedule of the constitution.

(11) ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഭരണഘടനയുടെ ഏഴാം ഷെഡ്യൂള്‍ പ്രകാരം പൌരത്വവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട്‌
നിയമനിര്‍മ്മാണം നടത്താന്‍ പാര്‍ലമെന്റ്‌ അതിന്‍െറ പ്രത്യേക അധികാരം
ഉപയോഗിച്ചു
(iv) ഭരണഘടനയുടെ ആറാം ഷെഡ്യൂളില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ആസ്സാം, മേഘാലയ,
മിസ്സോറം , ത്രിപൂര എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഗോത്രമേഖലകള്‍ക്ക്‌ പൌരത്വ വ്യവസ്ഥകള്‍
ബാധകമല്ല
